The Process
Every project is different, but here’s how we typically work:
Discovery & Proposal
We begin with a call to talk through your goals, audience, and timeline. You’ll receive a detailed proposal with scope, pricing, and suggested next steps.
Story Development
This is where the research begins. I conduct interviews—often 30 to 60 per project—and review primary and secondary sources, including archives, reports, and photos.
Manuscript Writing
Using everything we gather, I write a narrative that’s historically accurate, emotionally engaging, and aligned with your organization’s tone and values.
Design & Print Coordination
Once the manuscript is finalized, I collaborate with designers, illustrators, and publishers to bring the book to life. Whether you want a hardcover coffee table piece or something simple and archival, I help manage the production process from start to finish.

Timeline & Investment
Most projects take 12–24 months from start to finish.
Project fees vary depending on complexity and length, with starting rates around $99,000, payable in project phases. Every quote includes research, interviews, writing, and project management.
